OILCAN - the musical Bold. Innovative. Funny.Irreverant. Life affirming.

A musical blending contemporary rap with traditional Scottish airs.

To grease the wheels of power, each has their own oilcan of self.

Or, as Margaret Mead put it,

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Artist Performing on Stage

Community writing of OILCAN is open to all over 16. No experience is necessary. Through collaborative FEEDER WORKSHOPS, participants are invited to contribute ideas, lyrics, and scripts that may shape the final production. As CREATIVE TEAMS emerge, so too will the OILCAN ARCHIVE CHEST. Herein is the amplification of unheard voices reflecting stories of social challenges and triumphs. Attendees can develop skills, connect with a wider artistic community, and potentially see their work both published and featured in a professional production.

Designed to encourage participants to apply to join the paid CREATIVE TEAMS, the first set of FEEDER WORKSHOPS ran in Glasgow's southside during March 2025.

More took place in Glasgow's West End, in Jedburgh, Stornoway, Edinburgh, Dundee, and Aberdeen.

Leith is scheduled for November 29, 2025. To reserve your place,
